Boot Nachos

This was perfect for a family of four sharing a hearty snack after a day of skiing. We just wanted a fun place to sit down and relax. It is HUGE and full of flavor and something that we could all agree upon. Looks like we started a tradition!

Greek Salad (gf)

Party of 3, so we also had the Tuna Poke bowl and the Boot burger. The food and atmosphere are always great. I never miss dining at the Dusty Boot when in the area.

The Legend Margarita

It's 2:00pm and I am back on the hill for the final chapter of another epic day at Beaver Creek - from Stickline to 4GetAboutit you know what I'm talking about. But wait, how come my mind is not present on the deep pow pillowing at my feet, I have only dreamt about this every waking moment at work since last season. In amazement, I'm being called, drawn in towards something I can't resist. My skis take control, edges carve down like spurs motivating a trusting steed I gain speed down the fall line when I realize- the Legend is calling. Like a gold rush, I buck down the hill racing westward towards "The Boot" with my dry, one could even say dusty mouth salivating in anticipation. Then I wonder, how are Legends made? Is it the stories we tell of a specific place, person, and or thing which possibly has been enhanced by it's supernatural power or is it both this plus some sorta of collective culture and company that allows the Legend to be hoisted into the spotlight as the the chosen one. I believe it's the latter. As good as the Legend is and I mean this is a true Legend (with the ability to blur even the steadiest amongst us line of reality and history) it does not simply stand alone. Folklore, has it it's The Boot Nachos that rises the Legend towards the land of Greek Mythology - as I was told pushing closing over a very cold Pabst Blue Ribbon one evening many moons ago. There I go again - is the chicken or the egg. Then it hit me. When it comes to The Dusty Boot it's about being there. Lunch, Apres-ski, Dinner it doesn't mater - just be a Legend (or at least a part of it). See you next week Dusty Boot!!!

Pork Green Chili (gf)

The Pork Green Chili---I both love it, and hate it. Love because it is delicious and the perfect dish after a day in the cold. Hate because I cannot freaking replicate it at home, despite several attempts. And love even more because it was part of the best Boot visit ever. Super Bowl 2016--Broncos v. Panthers. As much as it pained me, I pulled off the mountain early that day to grab a spot at the bar to watch the game with my brother. I ordered a bowl of Pork Green Chili while I waited. It was so good that I told my brother he needed to order one when he got there. He did, and he agreed. Then the game started, and we got to watch the Broncos march to victory, while the crowd grew and grew, to the point that by the end we were crushed against the bar. But we didn't care, what with our bellies full of delicious chili and cold draft beer, and a Super Bowl win "to boot." (Sorry)
